Rotor bearings
A typical LUVO rotor has a vertical axis and is mounted on two bearings: carrier and guide. The carrier bearing, carrying the entire weight of the rotor, is usually located at the bottom of the rotor and the guide bearing, holding the rotor in a vertical position, is mounted on the top.
As a support bearing, we most often use spherical roller thrust bearings, which can operate with misalignment errors of up to 3°. We most often use radial spherical roller bearings as a guide bearing, enabling the transfer of large transverse loads and axial displacements resulting from thermal expansion of the shaft.
